Don't you

Hey,
It's been a while here since spring,
It's been a while,
On my finger I wore torpidity's ring.

It's been a while since,
In my garden, a little dove has sung,
It's been a while since the rusty phone has rung,

All of a sudden, the gentle knock on my door,
The void now is gone.
Your finger onto the latch,
Yet to cross the threshold
But I felt you amongst.

You said, and I quote, "how you have been"
And I know that it doesn't mean anything.
So, don't you think I'll let you in...
Don't you think this time I'll cling....
Don't you think this time I'll let you take my bling...
Don't you think you can change my mind with that grin...
Don't you....
